We are pleased to announce that the 7-11 Committee is currently seeking members. We currently have four vacancies on the committee and are seeking interested community members to help fill these important roles.

About the 7-11 Committee:
A 7-11 Committee—sometimes called a "Surplus Property Advisory Committee"—is a group appointed by the Board of Education to evaluate district-owned real property that may be considered surplus or no longer needed for school purposes. The committee reviews relevant information, gathers community input, and makes recommendations to the Board regarding potential uses, leases, or disposition of the property.

The committee will meet approximately once a month, in person, for about 1.5 hours per meeting.

Individuals interested in assisting the district in evaluating and planning for facility use are invited to apply. Kindly complete the application and return it to Michelle Quiñonez by December 1, 2025.

A formal petition for the creation of MacArthur Place Charter School was submitted to SVUSD on October 31, 2025.

The Board of Trustees will hold a Public Hearing to consider the level of support for the Initial Charter Petition of MacArthur Park Charter School (MPCS) at the SVUSD November 13^th Regular Board meeting. Following MPCS’s presentation, the Board will take public comment to consider the level of support for the charter petition.
